Hi Alan,
what were you doing back in 1970 in Miami?
Alan: I was finishing
college, my family is actually from New York. My father was
a milionaire and I lived in Miami supported by my family.
What was
your first sight of Jim Morrison?
They came over
inside the building the middle of the night, making noises and I was studing
so I got into the corridor and told them to "shut up".
I recognized him because his face was in the news. Jim said
"I´m sorry" and they left. A sad look in his
eye...I could see both Indian and a white man´s forces struggling
for power inside him. He was a shaman.
You said
you "knew" him, how did your relationship with Morrison finally
started?
We didn´t
meet again until the last couple of days. In the day before
his last audience at the trial, I saw him walking into the
building. He looked tired and sad, so I said to him I was
sorry for the bad impression and invited him and his friends
for dinner. We had fun talking about wine and women. After
they drink all my liquor they went to look for more in a bar.
I was tired so I said I was staying. Morrison gave me a piece
of paper with some handwritten poetry
Lucky you!
I know.
Can you
show it???
I´ll only
show the last verse cause I´m publishing a book, you
know. Here it is:

And that
was it? your encounter...
No, before they
left my apartment I invited them to ride my new boat.
Really?
Did you take pictures of that?
Yes. Here is one,
I won´t tell you how many I have. I´m showing you one,
the others are saved.

...For the
book.
Right!
So, tell
me the rest of the story.
The rest of the
story is that they didn´t realize what kind of square
I was, they were there to have some fun in a cool boat. But
soon I discovered what kind of "long hair" they were...They
screwed with my girlfriend and I knew that, because I was
on the other side of the boat... They said cruel profanities
into my wife's ears and I just got there and said the ride
was over.
And what
will you call the book?
It will be called
"Across the sea". You know, Jim told me interesting stuff
that he was thinking at the time...that he never told anybody!

Do
you believe in these stories? Are those really Jim´s
words on that piece of paper? Who Knows! Who cares!!! This
is just another story from The Doors comics!
